Memory Monday


Today we have a walk around the Ivy Farm Lane Conservation Area. This is the red ringed area shown on the hand drawn map from Jay Mckeown. The houses were part of the wider Westwood parish area at the time.




The area is dominated by Canley Hall, which is now long disused and boarded up. Ivy Farm Lane, Cannocks Lane and Shultern Lane are all shown on maps dating from as early as 1597 and the area once formed the old hamlet of Canley. It was based on a number of separate farms.
